Introductions made

Dear Students,

We invite you to join your fellow candidates for a uniquely informative and social event at NPAP, the National Psychological Association for Psychoanalysis, on November 24th from 6 to 8pm. Doug Maxwell, President of the National Association for the Advancement of Psychoanalysis, will host an evening discussion specifically for students focusing on:

1. the urgency to support the upcoming “Diagnose and Treat” proposition in the New York State Legislature
2. the future of the profession of the psychoanalyst
3. the importance of NAAP Membership

Following Doug’s talk, there will be an opportunity for attendees from each institute to introduce themselves, ask questions and voice concerns. A wine and cheese reception will accompany the night’s discussions, offering candidates a chance to meet, network and develop a sense of group identity.

NPAP is located at 40 West 13th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues in Manhattan (F, M, L or Path to 14th street station). We look forward to an evening of sharing our thoughts and experiences as colleagues and analysts in training.
